Volunteer Opportunities
Presbyterian Homes & Family Services ministry manifests itself in preventive, rehabilitative and specialized services for the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional needs for children, youth, adults and their families. You can share in the wonderful feeling of giving to those who are less fortunate by volunteering.
Mentors: Provide personal, one-on-one support and guidance for residents in need of a positive role model.
Activity Assistants: Assist Christian Life Coordinator & Recreation Specialist with routine cottage activities, special events, fitness trainers, and art classes.
Receptionists: Answer incoming telephone calls, and greet families and guests as they enter the administrative building.
Special Events: Assist with PHFS sponsored events: Mad Hatter’s Ball, 5K and Youth Run, Turkey Trot & Youth Run, Toy Run, ‘Day in the Country’ at Zuni and other events such as Regional Receptions across the Commonwealth. Mission Opportunities: Work camps, hosting special celebrations and supporting residents during the holidays are welcome.
Music Instruction: Volunteers provide music lessons to our residents.
Tutors: Assist students in the completion of daily class assignments
Internships: Internships available with clinical oversight for pre-Masters and Bachelor Degree candidates. Compensation considered on a case-by-case basis.
Practicums: Practicums available for pre-bachelor degree candidates.
